scribbles of the perennial debugger…

27Dec Where’s my domain?

After few months that I have reset my domain and blog.  My old blog got banned somehow in Google SERPs.  Probably due to numerous spam links, obviously, a result of my own negligence.

Now that I have a new Blog URL, and has actively patrolled by comments for spams, my domain’s back on top of Google SERP when googling my name.  Cool!

27Dec How’s work now?

I am now a former employee of Barclays.  Barclays Global Investors that is.  Why former?  It’s because BGI has been acquired by my new employer, BlackRock.  Almost two years with BGI has left me good memories and tremendous growth.  Here’s hoping the same with BlackRock. The same enthusiasm and positive outlook is now channeled to our new team at BlackRock.

Anyways, after few days after the official execution of the “divorce”, I saw this advertisement from CNN.com.  Funny, but this is now reality.  The world “Global” was BGI’s punchline, at least in name and in internal culture usage.

27Dec (Mis)guided browser interest

Suddenly, I don’t feel the urge to get myself Firefox.  I was one of the first adopters of the browser since its pre-V1 beta days.  However, I got myself the (de-facto standard?) dominant IE and the simplistic Chrome.  I don’t think I’ll ever find practical use for Firefox.  I am not a fan of the plugin paradigm of Firefox either, so no love lost there.  Let’s see how it goes…

27Dec My Christmas Gift to myself

Here it is, brand me evil or stupid, but I got myself a Windows 7 Ultimate on my ThinkPad X200.  Replacing the old and annoying Vista.

Of course, I couldn’t complete my desktop without Eclipse.  This one’s Galileo.

27Sep Useless piece of M$ software – part 2

For a very simple reason and procedure for me to enable sharing file sharing between my machines at home, Vista just simply refuses to enable me to access. Maybe, I am not techie enough (which I doubt) or… Microsoft hear this, VISTA SUCKS!

27Sep Old CFs

I was one of the early adopters of CF when it came out. I was one of the first owners of a digital camera. Time flies so fast, here I am disposing them as 16 and 64MB would get me nowhere. And the speed of the flash media is insanely slow.

23Aug PMA – Leadership

Something I have picked up on Leadership.  I have always dreamed of becoming a military officer.  Here’s the closest it can get.

Values build character
Character breeds leaders
Leaders make a difference
